Aim & Scope

Ceride: Journal of Ego-Document Studies is the first journal dedicated to the study of ego-documents in the world. The journal aims to contribute to the scientific community by publishing original, pioneering, and superior-quality studies in accordance with international publishing standards. Ceride is a journal of historical studies and primarily publishes articles written from a historical perspective; however, it embraces an interdisciplinary approach and encourages different views of social sciences and humanities to ego-documents.
The journal welcomes original articles on ego-documents written in Turkish and English, regardless of the historical period or geographical boundaries. Ceride is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research and translated articles and original document publications, research notes, book reviews, and meeting reports. The journal is published twice a year, in June and December.


Ceride aims to contribute to the development of the scientific and intellectual horizon of the larger society by adopting the open access policy as an ethical principle.
Ceride is sponsored by İstanbul Medeniyet Üniversitesi Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Koordinasyon Birimi in the scope of the project coded S-KDT-2023-1844.

Ceride is a journal dedicated to ego-documents produced in every period of history and every cultural/geographical region of the world. The scope of the journal consists of those sources referred to as “ego-documents” or “self-narratives” in English (as “ben-anlatıları,” “özyaşamsal öyküler” ve “birinci ağızdan anlatılar” in Turkish ) such as diary, memoir, autobiography, and private letters. Original research articles, translated articles, document publications, research notes, book reviews, and meeting reports on ego-documents are evaluated and published in accordance with international publishing standards.
