Between Heaven and Hell examines the issue of religious diversity within the Islamic tradition. The book contains thirteen articles, most of which are the result of the “Islam, Salvation, and the Fate of Others” symposium held at the University of Illinois in 2010. The articles are organized into six thematic sections: Historical Dimensions, Diversity and Mercy, Supersessionism and Mercy, Reconceptualising Pluralism, Otherness and the Qurʾān, and Otherness and Inclusion/Exclusion.
