Existantial Ecstasy and its Reflections: The Sample of Imam Rabbani’s Approach to the Concept of Shathiyye
Abstract
Shatah or shathiyya is one of the most important concepts in the history of mysticism. This article deals with the approach of Imam Rabbani to the concept of shathiyya. Imam Rabbani who offers with his theory of the wahdat al-shuhud as an alternative to the theory of wahdat al-wujud, in addition to Hallaj’s and Bistami’s some expressions, he takes up the theory of wahdat al-wujud in the content of shathiyya. So, the approach of Imam Rabbani to the concept of shathiyya is important for understanding wahdat-i wujud as well as wahdat al-shuhud.

Abstract
Şatah ya da şathiye, tasavvuf tarihinde üzerinde sıkça durulan kavramlardan biridir. Bu çalışmada İmam Rabbani’nin şathiye kavramına yaklaşımı ele alınmaktadır. Vahdet-i vücud düşüncesine karşı sistematik tarzda bir vahdet-i şühud görüşüyle alternatif sunan İmam Rabbani, Hallâc ve Bayezid-i Bistâmî’nin bazı ifadeleri yanında İbn Arabî’nin bu teorisini de şatah ibareler kapsamında değerlendirmiştir. Dolayısıyla İmam Rabbani’nin şathiye kavramını ele alışı, onun vahdet-i vücuda yaklaşımı yanında, vahdet-i şühudun anlaşılması açısından da ayrı bir öneme sahiptir.
