Çağdaş Epistemolojide Mistik İnançların Epistemolojik Değerine İlişkin Problemler ve Çözüm Arayışları
Abstract
Bu makalede, çağdaş epistemolojide kabul edilen geleneksel bilgi tanımı, “gerekçelendirilmiş doğru inanç”, çerçevesinde mistik tecrübeye dayalı inançların epistemolojik değeri konusunda ortaya çıkan temel problemlere yer verilecektir. Çalışmanın amacı, tarihin farklı kesitlerinde çeşitli şekillerde konu edinilen mistik tecrübenin rasyonel tavrı ile bilinen analitik felsefede nasıl gündeme geldiğini ele almak, konuya ilişkin problemleri ve çözüm arayışlarını sunmaktır. Bu amaçla, öncelikle konuya ilişkin kısa bir giriş yapılacak, ardından çağdaş epistemolojide katı delilci tavırda, tecrübeye dayalı her türlü inancın irrasyonel sayılarak dışlanmasına değinilecek, daha sonra bu tavrın zayıflayarak tecrübeye yeniden alan açılmasına, bu sayede yeniden gündeme gelen mistik tecrübeye dayalı inançların epistemolojik değerine ilişkin problemlere ve son olarak söz konusu problemlere çözüm bulmaya çalışan açıklamalardan öne çıkanlarına yer verilecektir. Böylece analitik felsefe geleneğinde hala hareketliliğini devam ettiren mistik tecrübenin epistemolojisine ilişkin tartışmalar belirginlik kazanırken, söz konusu bilgi tanımından dolayı çağdaş epistemolojide tecrübenin ne kadar sınırlı bir çerçevede konu edildiği ortaya çıkacaktır.

Problems Regarding the Epistemological Value of Mystical Beliefs in Contemporary Epistemology and the Ways of Solution to These Problems
Abstract
In this article, the basic problems regarding the epistemological value of beliefs that depend on mystical experience will be discussed within the context of “justified true belief”, as the traditional definition of knowledge accepted by contemporary epistemology. The purpose of the study is to discuss how the rational manner of mystical experience, which has been discussed in various ways during different phases of history, is brought forward within analytic philosophy and to address problems and ways of solutions regarding this issue. For this purpose, first a brief introduction on this issue will be given. Then, how all beliefs that depend on experience have been excluded as irrational on the basis of strict evidentialism in contemporary epistemology will be discussed. Afterwards, how this manner has become weaker and a space has reopened for experience and thus the problems regarding the epistemological value of beliefs that depend on mystical experience will be put forward. Finally, the prominent explanations that are trying to find a solution to these problems will be introduced. Thus, while the discussions on the epistemology of mystical experience, which are still vivid in the tradition of analytic philosophy, will become apparent, the limited scope, in which experience is handled within contemporary epistemology due to the aforementioned definition, will become clear.
