Bio

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet KILINÇ, LLB, LLM, PhD, finished his undergraduate at Kırıkkale University Law Faculty in Turkey in 2003. After defended his master thesis, “Analyzing The Ottoman State’s First Constitution (Kanu-I Esasi) interms of human rights”, in 2005 at Kırıkkale University Social Science Institute Public Law Department, he started his Public law Doctorate education at Gazi University Social Science Institute Public Law Department in Turkey in 2007. Dr. KILINÇ’s PhD dissertation is “Parading(tashhir) as a kind of penalty in Ottoman Criminal Law” which was defended in 2013 and published as a book in 2014 by Adalet Publish house. He finished his law apprenticeship at İstanbul Bar Association in 2004 and got his attorney’s license and notarial certificate. He worked as a research assistant at Kırıkkale University and Gazi University between the years 2004 and 2013. Since 2013 he is an Assist. Prof. Dr. at Yıldırım Beyazıt University Law Faculty. He served as the vice dean of the faculty between 2014 and 2018. He has been the head of History of Law Department at the Faculty since 2013. He went to the USA, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kosova, Moldova and Macedonia for academic research, presenting an edict etc. in different times. He has been a Japanside researcher of a Project at Kobe University supported by JSPS since 2016 and taught some lectures about Islam and/or Ottoman at Kobe University as a visiting research fellow in 2018. He has a lot of articles which were published in international and national refereed journals. One of the article of him, The Legal Analyse Of Penal Servitude On The Galleys In Old Ottoman, won a reward from Yıldırım Beyazıt University. He has been invited so many conferences such as the International conference on judicial ethics, organized by Justice Ministry of Turkey. He has been teaching Turkish History of Law course in Undergratuade program in law faculty, Methodologies of law and technical of scientific research, Introduction to Law, Ottoman Criminal Law, Ottoman Law system, Ottoman Judicial System courses in graduate and doctorate program in the public law department. He has been managed several master theses.
